Safeguarding Protocols

Chesterfield Chiropractic Clinic Coronavirus COVID-19 Safeguarding.

Amid the developing coronavirus situation, the Chesterfield Chiropractic Clinic wanted to take the time to reassure you of the actions we are taking as a responsible health care clinic. The health of both our patients and our team members is our biggest priority and we are closely following the advice of Public Health England and the World Health Organisation and introducing a wide variety of measures to minimise the impact.

At this time we are advising any patient should be aware that whilst the Chesterfield Chiropractic Clinic has very strict safeguarding and hygiene policies in place there is still a risk of coronavirus COVID-19 transmission whilst attending the clinic.

Any of our team members who show even mild fever or a new persistent cough have been advised to follow the government advice surrounding medical care and self-isolation, and we are ensuring that team members are supported fully during this time.

Patients who have coronavirus COVID-19 or any of the coronavirus COVID-19 symptoms which are:-
  • A new continuous cough
  • A high temperature/fever
  • A loss of, or a change in your sense of smell or taste
or have been in contact with anyone with coronavirus COVID-19 or have the coronavirus symptoms listed above are being informed that they will need to reschedule (minimum of 2-weeks) or cancel appointments and follow the guidelines of self isolation on the NHS website under the section “Self isolation if you or someone you live with has coronavirus symptoms”.

A Poster is in place on the clinic entrance instructing patients not to enter the clinic if they have coronavirus COVID-19 or symptoms of coronavirus COVD-19, or been in contact with anyone with coronavirus COVID-19 or symptoms of coronavirus COVID-19. A poster is also in place instructing that you should not enter the clinic unless you have an appointment.

Posters have been placed in the clinic waiting room providing information regarding infection control and information regarding coronavirus. Signs have been placed in the toilets instructing patients to wash their hands with warm soapy water for a minimum of 20 seconds.

Cleaning in our clinic has been intensified, and our teams will continue to regularly sanitise the clinic. Benches and equipment will be sanitised after each treatment. Practitioners will be wearing disposable aprons and gloves that will be changed after every patient, and will also be wearing face masks. Practitioners may also wear visors/eye protection. Sanitising hand gel is available inside the door on entering the clinic and we ask all patients to use this as soon as they enter. Sanitiser is also available in the treatment rooms and toilets. Patients will also be asked to bring a fluid resistant face mask, or will be provided with one if they don’t have one.

Patients will enter the clinic via one door and exit via another and appointments will be spaced out to minimise the risk of patient coming into contact with each other.

We will continue to monitor the situation and follow direction given by the government, the British Chiropractic Association, and the General Chiropractic Council, and will take whatever action is necessary to protect the health of our customers and our teams.
